Novecom Congratulates David Leask on Admission as an Engineers Australia Companion
Novecom is proud to congratulate David Leask, Business Manager AgTech, on being admitted as a Companion of Engineers Australia (CompIEAust), recognising his significant contribution to engineering, industry capability, technical education and innovation throughout an accomplished career spanning more than 30 years.
Companion Membership is awarded to highly accomplished professionals working within engineering who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, impact and contribution to the profession. Engineers Australia describes Companions as individuals who may have reached a professional standing equivalent to Fellow members through their achievements, leadership and service to engineering. Applications are assessed by the organisation’s National Membership Committee and require substantial evidence of professional accomplishment.
David’s career has encompassed electronics, mechatronics, industrial automation, robotics, renewable energy, advanced manufacturing and agricultural technology. Along the way, he has combined technical expertise with leadership, education and industry engagement to help organisations and individuals embrace emerging technologies and build capability for the future.
Before joining Novecom, David held senior leadership roles with TAFE NSW, where he contributed to the development of engineering and technology education programs and industry partnerships. He also led initiatives to strengthen advanced manufacturing capability across regional New South Wales and played a leading role in developing a nationally relevant mechatronics framework in collaboration with industry, government and education stakeholders.
Today, David leads Novecom’s AgTech operations, helping connect engineering and technology with the practical needs of Australian agriculture. His work has focused on supporting the adoption of IoT enabled technologies that improve decision making, operational efficiency and customer outcomes in farming environments.
Over the course of his career, David has also been recognised through a range of professional and industry achievements, including a WorldSkills Gold Medal in Consumer Electronics, educational and leadership awards, industry committee participation and judging roles that have helped support the broader engineering and manufacturing sectors.
David’s admission as a Companion of Engineers Australia is recognition of a career built on leadership, innovation, education and practical engineering impact.
We are incredibly proud of David’s achievement and grateful for the expertise, dedication and industry knowledge he brings to our customers, our partners and our team every day.
