A new Australian designed and built ‘intelligent’ device, Novecom’s SynaptiX LID, has received the NSW government tick of approval to enable irrigators to comply with forthcoming floodplain harvesting measurement regulations.

Novecom has determined a method for forecasting inversions by analysing air temperature data obtained from a Meteorological Temperature Profiler (MTP). Novecom’s SentineX data acquisition and reporting platform can be configured to provide a prediction of the likelihood, strength and duration of inversions. Plant operators can receive notifications to tell them when an inversion is likely to occur and how severe it will be.

Novecom recently won a Hunter Safety Award for its product Intercepta®, a mobile speed camera and electronic message board that measures and manages driver behaviour.
