Fixed dust monitor
Our weatherproof, fixed SentineX dust monitor meets Australian standards for measuring PM10 and PM2.5 particles in the air. It uses two methods to monitor dust:
Tapered element oscillating microbalance (TEOM)
The TEOM measures dust by tracking changes in vibration. As dust collects on the filter, it adds weight and slows the vibration of a tapered element. The system uses this change to calculate how much dust has been collected.
Beta attenuation method (BAM)
The BAM method measures dust levels in the air by sending beta particles from a small radioactive source through a filter tape. A detector checks how many particles get through. The more dust on the tape, the fewer particles pass, helping calculate how much dust is in the air.
All monitoring hardware is available attached to a mobile trailer with a self-sufficient solar power system or pole-mounted and connected to mains power. It can also be easily integrated into existing air quality monitoring hardware and weather stations.
